About Make Justice Work

Make Justice Work was established in 2009 as a campaign to boost public support for a change in how Britain deals with lower-level offenders – a switch from expensive and futile short prison terms to intensive and effective sanctions.

MJW closed in June 2013 following the launch of it’s final report ‘Lighting the Flame: a report on the impact of Make Justice Work’.

MJW Campaign Has Drawn To A Close

In June 2013, MJW held its final event to launch ‘Lighting the Flame: a report on the impact of Make Justice Work. The event also provided the opportunity to thank all those who have supported the campaign since it began in 2009.

MJW has made a significant impact in finding & promoting the evidence to support the use of community sentences as an alternative to costly short term prison sentences.
